
Former National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, widely known as Nana B, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Edward Osei Boakye, on Father’s Day, marking two decades since his passing.
In an emotional social media post, Nana B reflected on the life, achievements, and enduring legacy of his father, who was affectionately known by many as “Boakye Mattress.”
According to Nana B, his father was an accomplished businessman, builder, and philanthropist whose influence and contributions continue to be felt long after his death.
“Twenty years ago, one of Ghana’s finest men, my father, Edward Osei Boakye, affectionately known as ‘Boakye Mattress’, passed on to glory,” Nana B wrote.
He described his father as a visionary whose ideas were ahead of his time and whose impact remains evident in the lives of many people and communities.
Using the occasion of Father’s Day, Nana B expressed gratitude for the values, guidance, and inspiration his father provided throughout his life.
“I am forever honored to be his son,” he stated, while offering prayers for his father’s peaceful rest.
The touching tribute formed part of Father’s Day celebrations across Ghana, with Nana B choosing the occasion to honor and celebrate the memory of a man he described as one of the nation’s finest.
His message has since resonated with many social media users, who joined him in remembering the late Edward Osei Boakye and acknowledging his contributions to society.
