Hearts of Oak secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kotoku Royals on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium in matchday 22 of the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians made the most of their home advantage to secure the win and move up to the 4th position on the league table with 35 points.

The game was a closely contested affair with both teams creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities. However, they were unable to find the back of the net in the first half of the game, despite their efforts.

As the game approached its conclusion, it seemed as though it would end in a goalless draw. However, Hearts of Oak’s persistence paid off, as defender Caleb Amankwah scored a late goal to hand them the three points.

The goal sparked jubilant scenes amongst the home fans and ensured that the Phobians are back to winning ways after sharing the spoils in their last Ghana Premier League game.

Meanwhile, Kotoku Royals remain in the relegation zone and face a daunting task to avoid the drop. The defeat leaves them in 18th position on the league table with 18 points after 22 matches.
