Fameye, a highlife musician, asserts that his intention when creating music is to communicate a particular message to music enthusiasts rather than to earn awards.
The “Notin A Get“ singer asserts that employing creative lyrics to tell stories that would inspire the general public in their everyday challenges is his primary motivation for creating music.
The talented singer stated that he was more concerned about having an impact on people’s lives than he was about the fame that came with performing music in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.
“I see myself as a storyteller. For me, making music goes beyond being a celebrity and has more to do with my story and the message I want to communicate to my listeners.
“I don’t eye the Songwriter of the Year award whenever I am creating my music. I just want to send a message across to fans that resonates with their daily lives,” he stated.
Fameye responded to a question regarding the specific genre he has been concentrating on in recent years by saying, “I don’t view myself as a solely Highlife artist because I feel I am still discovering myself with the particular sort of genre I perform, but I consider myself a diverse act.
“The dream is to live a great legacy in Ghanaian music circles like the likes of Amakye Dede, Ebo Taylor, Daddy Lumba. Okomfour Kwadee, among others have done.”
