New Patriotic Party (NPP) member Dennis Miracles Aboagye has strongly defended the documents he and his team have relied on in the ongoing public debate surrounding the financial position of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

According to Aboagye, the claims being made by his side are backed by official records and verifiable documents, contrary to suggestions from critics who have questioned the accuracy of the information.

Speaking on the matter, Aboagye referenced an official Ghana Cocoa Board memorandum dated December 20, 2017, which he said clearly outlined the debt obligations and financial challenges inherited by the institution at the time.

“We produced an official Ghana Cocoa Board memorandum,” he stated, emphasizing that the document forms a key part of the evidence supporting his argument.

He further noted that the memorandum has been publicly available since the beginning of the discussion and has not been successfully challenged by those disputing his claims.

“That document has been there from the start of this discussion. No one has disproved it,” Aboagye said.

The NPP communicator also questioned the credibility of some of the materials currently being circulated in the debate, describing them as unverified and lacking the necessary documentary support.

According to him, public discussions on COCOBOD’s finances should be based on facts and official records rather than assumptions or unsubstantiated allegations.

“You cannot build a full argument on claims without documents,” he wrote.

The debate over COCOBOD’s financial health has become a major topic in Ghana’s political discourse, with both sides presenting differing accounts of the institution’s debt profile and overall financial management. Aboagye insists that any meaningful assessment of the situation must be grounded in official documentation and verifiable evidence.

As discussions continue, stakeholders and observers are expected to closely examine the records being presented by both sides to determine the true state of COCOBOD’s finances.
