The Nae We Arbitration Court, the highest traditional adjudicating body and custodian of Ga customs, has adjourned its hearing in the contentious case between spiritual herbalist Ola Maame and pastor Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as “Fire Oja.” The case stems from alleged defamatory remarks made by Fire Oja against Ola Maame and veteran musician Mzbel.
At the opening session on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, presided over by Nuumo Akwaa Mensah III (the Nae Wulomo), Fire Oja presented his witnesses, who were subsequently cross-examined. After hearing from both parties, the court deferred its ruling until Thursday, January 29, 2026.
However, a viral video has since emerged on social media falsely portraying the case as concluded in the pastor’s favor. The footage shows a parade by Fire Oja’s supporters, who are heard taunting Ola Maame and repeating the very defamatory statements under arbitration.
Authoritative sources close to the proceedings confirm that the court has issued no judgment on the substantive matter. The purported victory celebration is, therefore, a complete misrepresentation of the judicial status.
“This parade is a charade, a deception, and an affront to traditional authority,” a spokesperson for Ola Maame stated, urging the public to disregard the video.
Observers and traditional adherents have expressed dismay at the pastor’s actions, viewing the premature celebration as disrespectful to the arbitration process. As both parties await the official verdict, the incident has raised questions about the motives behind spreading misinformation while the court’s deliberation is still pending.
The public, especially supporters and clients of Ola Maame, are advised to treat the viral video with contempt and await the legitimate ruling from the custodians of Ga tradition.
