Mike Tyson’s Former $3 Million Mansion Linked to 50 Cent Returns to Market for $9.9 Million

September 17, 2026 4 min read 27 views

A massive Connecticut mansion once associated with boxing legend Mike Tyson and rapper 50 Cent has returned to the real estate market with a $9.9 million asking price, nearly three decades after Tyson acquired the property.

The sprawling estate at 50 Poplar Hill Drive in Farmington, Connecticut, covers about 51,830 square feet and sits on approximately 17.6 acres.

Its history is almost as remarkable as its size.

Tyson purchased the property in 1996 for about $3 million, before it later became associated with 50 Cent, who acquired the mansion for approximately $4.1 million in 2003.

Today, the property is being marketed as a luxury estate featuring an extraordinary collection of entertainment, sporting and residential facilities.

From Mike Tyson to 50 Cent

The mansion became part of Mike Tyson’s real estate portfolio during the height of his boxing career.

One of its most distinctive features is a private nightclub known as Club TKO, a name inspired by Tyson’s boxing career.

After Tyson’s ownership, the property entered another high-profile chapter when rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, became its owner in 2003.

The mansion also became connected to the rapper’s music career.

A recording studio on the property was reportedly used by 50 Cent while working on his 2005 album “The Massacre.”

That connection gives the property an unusual place in both sports and entertainment history.

A mansion built for entertainment

The Farmington estate is far larger than an ordinary luxury home.

Current property information lists 21 bedrooms, 40 bathrooms and seven kitchens, although older reports have cited different bedroom figures. The property also includes an indoor swimming pool and spa, movie theatre, casino room, game rooms, recording studio and sporting facilities.

Outside the main residence, the estate includes a large private compound with a pond, outdoor swimming pool, tennis and basketball facilities, guest accommodation and an eight-car garage.

The current listing describes the property as having been extensively renovated, with more than $3 million reportedly invested in upgrades by the current owners.

The property changed hands again

After 50 Cent’s ownership, the mansion eventually became the property of Casey and Shera Askar, a Florida-based couple involved in restaurant and franchise businesses.

The Askars purchased the property in 2019 for about $2.9 million, according to reporting on the estate’s ownership history. They subsequently invested millions of dollars in renovations and customised the mansion for family gatherings and entertainment.

Among the upgrades were improvements to the indoor pool and spa area, a cigar lounge and enhancements to the kitchen.

The estate’s enormous scale also allowed the family to host large gatherings, celebrations and corporate events.

What makes the mansion unusual?

The property combines features that would normally be found across several different luxury properties.

Inside, there are multiple entertainment rooms, a cinema, casino-style space, billiards facilities, a recording studio and a nightclub.

The indoor pool area has also been upgraded with spa facilities, while the kitchen has been equipped for large-scale catering.

The outdoor grounds add even more recreational options, including sports courts, a pond and extensive private grounds.

The property is therefore marketed not simply as a residence but as a destination capable of accommodating large families, private events and entertainment.

Why is it back on the market?

The current owners have reportedly decided to sell because their family circumstances have changed, with their children now older and the enormous property no longer being used as frequently.

The estate is currently listed at $9.9 million, according to the active property listing.

That asking price is considerably higher than the $2.9 million paid by the Askars in 2019, although they have also reported spending more than $3 million on renovations.

The property’s price history demonstrates how dramatically its value and marketing position have changed over the years.

A piece of celebrity history on the market

For potential buyers, the mansion offers more than bedrooms and luxury amenities.

Its history connects three different chapters of celebrity culture: Mike Tyson’s boxing legacy, 50 Cent’s music career and the current owners’ transformation of the estate into a large family and entertainment compound.

The recording studio’s association with “The Massacre” and Tyson’s Club TKO remain among the property’s most distinctive features.

With its enormous floor space, extensive grounds and celebrity ownership history, the Farmington mansion remains one of Connecticut’s most unusual luxury properties.

For $9.9 million, the next owner would not simply be purchasing a large house. They would be acquiring a property with decades of sporting, music and celebrity history attached to it.
