Education First: Bonsuoku Chief Delivers on Promised School Project

The Odikro of Senya Bonsuoku, Nenyi Kweku Kwei VI, has fulfilled a significant pledge to his community with the completion of an ultramodern school complex.

This project marks the traditional ruler’s first major development initiative since his installation and was realised through a collective effort involving traditional authorities, residents, and members of the diaspora.

The traditional council played a pivotal role in mobilising the community and coordinating support for the construction, while individuals and organisations contributed resources to ensure its successful completion.

The Chief, who also serves as the Nifahene of the Senya Beraku Traditional Council, stated that the project was driven by a need to improve educational infrastructure and provide a safe, conducive environment for teaching and learning.

“When I was installed, I promised to transform Bonsuoku. Today, this school stands as proof that the promise was not merely rhetoric,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to all traditional leaders, community members, and organisations who supported the project, noting that their contributions exemplified the power of community-led development.

“This school was not built by me alone. It was built by the chiefs, the people of Bonsuoku, and our brothers and sisters abroad who believed in the vision,” he stated.

“If we want a better future for Bonsuoku, we must invest in the education of our children. This is where it begins,” he added.

The Chief urged the pupils and teachers who will use the facility to take proper care of it and maintain it for current and future generations. He also called on other communities to embrace collective action and partnerships to address development challenges, particularly in education.

“I charge the pupils and teachers to take good care of this facility. It is for them, and for generations yet to come,” he said.

Nenyi Kweku Kwei VI was installed as Chief in 2020 after completing his studies at the University of Ghana Business School, Legon. During his coronation, he promised to transform his community through communal labour and called upon his people to support his vision.
