Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has reportedly failed to appear before the party’s National Disciplinary Committee for the fourth time, according to a report heard on Peace FM.

The latest development comes amid an ongoing disciplinary process involving the outspoken politician, who has recently been at odds with sections of the NPP leadership over comments he has made about the party and its affairs.

The NPP’s National Disciplinary Committee, chaired by former Roads Minister Kwasi Amoako-Atta, was tasked with investigating petitions brought against Mr. Agyapong following a decision by the party’s National Executive Committee and National Council in June 2026.

The latest development comes amid an ongoing disciplinary process involving the outspoken politician, who has recently been at odds with sections of the NPP leadership over comments he has made about the party and its affairs.

The disciplinary case comes at a time when the NPP is reorganising its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Kennedy Agyapong has remained an influential and outspoken figure within the party. His public criticisms of the party leadership have, however, attracted strong reactions from some party members.

In June, NPP Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed described some of Agyapong’s comments as disappointing and urged party members to be mindful of statements that could affect the party’s image.

Agyapong has also criticised the party over issues including the failure to operationalise the Afari Military Hospital, while making other claims concerning the previous NPP administration.

The reported fourth absence could add another layer to the ongoing disagreement between Agyapong and the party’s disciplinary structures.

However, the reported failure to appear should not be treated as a final determination of wrongdoing. The disciplinary process is intended to give the parties involved an opportunity to present their positions before the appropriate party organs make a decision.

The NPP has previously indicated that the National Council would consider the disciplinary committee’s findings before determining whether any sanctions were necessary.

For now, attention remains on whether Kennedy Agyapong will eventually engage with the committee and provide his response to the issues raised against him.

The development is likely to generate further discussion within the NPP, particularly as the party continues efforts to rebuild its structures and position itself for the 2028 elections.

BigtimezGH will continue to follow the development and bring readers updates as more information becomes available.
