A Nigerian woman has sparked debate on social media after sharing her views on relationships and marriage, questioning men who are unwilling to spend extended periods living with their girlfriends.

In a video shared on X, the woman criticized what she described as the reluctance of some men to accommodate their partners for long periods, especially in serious relationships.

“You men, you people have very stupid audacity,” she said.

According to her, it is unreasonable for someone in a committed relationship lasting several years to be unwilling to live with their partner for more than a few weeks.

“How can you tell me that you can’t allow your girlfriend, your girlfriend, no be say na one-year relationship, like three years relationship, to stay with you?

“If she stays with you for more than two weeks, you’ll be tired,” she stated.

The woman argued that such attitudes raise concerns about how those individuals intend to handle marriage, which requires partners to live together and share their lives on a daily basis.

Drawing a distinction between a wedding ceremony and the realities of married life, she emphasized that marriage involves a long-term commitment that goes beyond a single day of celebration.

“So how would you marry? Wedding and marriage na two different things. Wedding is a day, marriage is for life. So how do you intend on marrying?” she asked.

She further questioned how a marriage would function if a couple struggled to spend extended periods together before tying the knot.

“Abi the woman should be going to her parents’ house and be coming to your side, stay for two weeks, then go back?” she added.

Her comments have generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users agreeing that couples should be comfortable spending long periods together before marriage, while others argued that personal space and individual preferences should also be respected in relationships.
