Officials from the Naa We Arbitration Court at Gbese in Accra, accompanied by police personnel and local indigenes, stormed the Zion Prayer Ministries International Church to effect the arrest of controversial founder Prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as “Fire Oja.

The operation, which took place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the church’s Spintex branch, saw security officers and loyal indigenes of the Gbese area move in to arrest the prophet following his repeated failure to appear before the Traditional Court.

Explaining the rationale behind the action, Reverend Nii Artey Adjei, official translator of the court and an eyewitness to the case, revealed that on February 12, 2026, the court delivered a judgment against Fire Oja in a defamation suit brought by Ola Maame, founder of The Ola’s Herbal and Spiritual Center (Soul Travel, Ghana).

In the ruling, the Naa Wulomo declared Ola Maame the victor and ordered Fire Oja to provide the following items as customary appeasement and compensation:

· 4 rams
· 12 fowls
· 1 box of Castle Bridge
· 1 gallon of Apketeshie (local gin)
· 6 full pieces of Khalico cloth
· 1 box of wine
· 6 bottles of whiskey
· ¢50,000 in monetary compensation

Additionally, the court imposed separate fines totalling ¢22,000 to cover procedural fees—comprising ¢10,000 for summons, ¢6,000 for opening fees, and ¢6,000 for closing fees. The total award in favour of the plaintiff therefore amounted to ¢72,000, alongside the customary items.

Reverend Adjei noted that before the final judgment was read, Jedidiah Henry Kore had disrespectfully left the court premises with his entourage—an act considered an affront to the customs of the area. Subsequent efforts to secure his appearance before the Traditional Court and to ensure compliance with the judgment proved futile. Last two weeks, a court bailiff dispatched to serve Fire Oja was allegedly assaulted, prompting the court’s decision to storm his church to effect his arrest for what they described as blatant disregard for the traditional ethos and values of Gbese.

Reverend Adjei further explained that, compelled by the prophet’s continued intransigence and disrespect for the elders, they reported the matter to the James Town Police, who assigned a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer to accompany them in executing the arrest.

He noted that, to avoid appearing harsh or discourteous to other ethnic groups living on Ga lands, they had made public announcements regarding the standoff between the Traditional Court and Fire Oja via social media. “This was done so that when we take any further action, it wouldn’t be misread as hate for other tribes working in Accra,” he explained.

The arrest of the controversial Fire Oja has since gone viral on social media, with many questioning why a religious leader would deliberately disregard traditional authority. As the dispute between Fire Oja and the Naa We Court of Arbitration continues, observers hope the pastor will act appropriately to forestall further embarrassing spectacles such as the one witnessed today.

DNA Taunt in TikTok Feud Leads to Defamation Suit Against ‘Fire Oja’

Adebayo Adesoka, the former husband of well-known traditional healer Ola Maame, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, the founder of Zion Prayer Ministries International, popularly called ‘Fire Oja.’

The suit, filed at the Accra High Court under case number GJ/03779/2026, seeks damages for harm caused to Adesoka and his son, Oladela Adebayo.

The plaintiffs’ statement of claim asserts that Prophet Kore has been engaged in a protracted public feud with Adesoka’s ex-wife on TikTok. This dispute allegedly culminated in a December 2025 live broadcast on the prophet’s TikTok account (@fireojaofficial), where he made what the suit describes as “serious, false, and defamatory” statements.

During the broadcast, the prophet is said to have displayed pictures of Adebayo Adesoka and his son while speaking in Twi. The suit quotes him as stating: “The picture I’ve shown is your husband, the man you’re currently living with… Let me repeat myself clearly… If there is any doubt, your husband can proceed to have a DNA test on his son.”

Adebayo Adesoka contends these words were “false, malicious, and reckless,” intended to damage his reputation, subject him to public ridicule and contempt, and imply he is not the biological father of his child. The suit argues the prophet knew or should have known the statements were false and published them without justification.

This lawsuit marks the latest in a series of legal entanglements for Prophet ‘Fire Oja.’ He is currently defending a separate defamation case brought by veteran musician Mzbel and is involved in a pending arbitration with Ola Maame at the Nae We Traditional Court.

The mounting litigation raises questions about the prophet’s recurrent involvement in public disputes and the making of “unsavory comments” that lead to court action, casting a shadow over his ministry as these cases proceed.

Prophet ‘Fire Oja’ Posts GH¢50,000 Bail in Mzbel Defamation Suit

The founder and leader of Zion Prayer Ministries International, Prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as ‘Fire Oja,’ has been granted a GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties in a defamation lawsuit filed by veteran musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, known professionally as Mzbel.

Following a hearing at the Adenta District court Court on Friday, January 30, 2026, Mzbel expressed confidence in the judicial process via a statement shared on her official Facebook page.

“Today, I appeared before the court in relation to a defamation matter arising from statements made about me on social media,” she stated.

Outlining the proceedings, she noted, “The court proceedings went smoothly. The accused, Fire Oja, was granted bail in the sum of GH¢50,000, with two sureties.”

Mzbel emphasized that she initiated the legal action to defend her reputation. “I initiated this action to protect my name, reputation, and professional work,” the statement read.

The musician affirmed her faith in Ghana’s legal system, stating, “This matter is currently before the court, and I have full confidence in the judicial process.” Out of respect for the court, she has chosen to refrain from further public commentary on the substance of the case.

She concluded by appealing to the media and the public to allow the legal process to run its course without interference.

The Nae We Arbitration Court, the highest traditional adjudicating body and custodian of Ga customs, has adjourned its hearing in the contentious case between spiritual herbalist Ola Maame and pastor Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as “Fire Oja.” The case stems from alleged defamatory remarks made by Fire Oja against Ola Maame and veteran musician Mzbel.

At the opening session on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, presided over by Nuumo Akwaa Mensah III (the Nae Wulomo), Fire Oja presented his witnesses, who were subsequently cross-examined. After hearing from both parties, the court deferred its ruling until Thursday, January 29, 2026.

However, a viral video has since emerged on social media falsely portraying the case as concluded in the pastor’s favor. The footage shows a parade by Fire Oja’s supporters, who are heard taunting Ola Maame and repeating the very defamatory statements under arbitration.

Authoritative sources close to the proceedings confirm that the court has issued no judgment on the substantive matter. The purported victory celebration is, therefore, a complete misrepresentation of the judicial status.

“This parade is a charade, a deception, and an affront to traditional authority,” a spokesperson for Ola Maame stated, urging the public to disregard the video.

Observers and traditional adherents have expressed dismay at the pastor’s actions, viewing the premature celebration as disrespectful to the arbitration process. As both parties await the official verdict, the incident has raised questions about the motives behind spreading misinformation while the court’s deliberation is still pending.

The public, especially supporters and clients of Ola Maame, are advised to treat the viral video with contempt and await the legitimate ruling from the custodians of Ga tradition.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested and charged controversial pastor Prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as Fire Oja, for making defamatory statements and issuing threats against veteran musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, known professionally as Mzbel.

The arrest follows a formal complaint lodged by Mzbel concerning a viral social media video in which Fire Oja, leader of Zion Prayer Ministries International, made unsubstantiated claims about the singer’s health following a spiritual “Soul Travel” experience at Ola Maame’s Soul Travel Ghana in 2025.

In an interview with Nyansa TV on Monday, January 5, 2026, Mzbel confirmed she reported the matter after being inundated with messages about the video. The police subsequently invited Prophet Fire Oja, who presented himself for questioning on Monday.

“At the CID headquarters, Fire Oja admitted he did not know me and apologized for his unsavory comments,” Mzbel stated.

She explained that police investigators outlined the legal seriousness of his actions by referencing relevant sections of the Constitution. They informed him he would be detained for 48 hours and processed for court.

However, after Fire Oja accepted the charges, the police later contacted Mzbel to state that further detention was unnecessary. “I was satisfied with the police action and the legal process they initiated against the accused,” she emphasized.

The controversy stems from Fire Oja’s claims that Mzbel suffered severe health complications and was hospitalized in Kasoa after her “Soul Travel” experience allegations the singer firmly denies.

“Those comments are completely unfounded. I was not admitted to any hospital after my Soul Travel Experience, nor did I receive any infusion at a health facility,” Mzbel clarified. “Anyone with evidence to the contrary should present it.”

The case is now set for court proceedings.
